Lithuanian Muslims community is inviting all who are seeking for knowledge or are just interested to the new event “Open door day” on 28th November 2015 in the only brick built mosque of Kaunas, situated for almost 100 years in the Park of Tranquility, address Totorių g. 6.
You wished, but you have never had a chance or maybe have been too shy to visit mosques of Lithuania? You wish to know what Islam is and what Muslims really believe in? How they live in Lithuania at the moment? We are offering you to get to know our faith and our members of community closer – directly from us!
Since 10 am till 7 pm you will be able to see the mosque, learn about the importance of it in the life of every Muslim and hear few reports on the topics: “What is Islam”, “History of the mosque of Kaunas”, “Islam in Lithuania and muslims community” and “The role of women in the religion of Islam”. We will benevolently put our best efforts to answer to all your questions and later will invite you to have a cup of coffee and a pleasant talk together.
During all the event few exhibitions will be held, in which you will see a few showpieces of religious heritage of Lithuanian Tatars’, you will be have a look and, if you wish, try on Muslims’ cloths. You will also get to know a difficult science of calligraphy and writtings of Arabic language in which we will inscribe your name, and kids will have a chance to participate in drawings competition “Mosque”.

1st floor of the mosque: mosques of the world, calligraphy and writing of your name in Arabic, religious heritage of Lithuanian Tatars, Islamic literature free of charge.
2nd floor of the mosque: Muslims’ cloths, henna tatoos on the hand, various types of wearing hijab, drawings competition “Mosque” (for kids).
