School Year-end Farewell at Kaunas Islamic School “Minaretas”

Imam with pupils
After Covid-19 quarantine (March 16-June 16) in Lithuania ended, on June 17 Kaunas weekend school “Minaretas” invited all pupils, their parents and community members to say goodbye to the 2019-2020 school year. Since last September, twelve pupils have been registered and enrolled to the school where they have participated in free islamic, Arabic and Quran recitation classes throughout the academic year. During the quarantine, the pupils had the opportunity to participate in online classes using Zoom.
On the farewell day, the school hosted a beautiful event “Goodbye, our school year”. During the event, school year-end certificates were given to the pupils and appreciation letters were handed out to the parents of the pupils by the community leader to acknowledge their active participation and support in their children’s learning process. To appreciate our wonderful teachers of our school, the community leader gifted them with some nice souvenirs. After Asr prayer all the participants were invited to the snack and refreshments table prepared by the parents.

Islam makes it a religious duty upon muslims to seek knowledge. Allah gifted us, humans, with the ability to hear, to see and to think for the purpose of seeking knowledge. Nowadays muslim children can easily become confused or lost in our society due to other beliefs and wicked lifestyles being promoted around. Therefore, our muslim community’s duty is to transfer our knowledge of Islam to the muslim youth. Every muslim child has the right to get a proper Islamic education and the parents have to find ways to provide it.
We are so thankful for everyone who participated in our farewelll event. We wish everyone a lovely summer holidays and are looking forward to meeting you again in the new 2020-2021 school year.
In shaa Allah
