The first lesson of Quran reading and Arabic learning
Salam alaykom dear brothers and sisters,
The 28th of September was a special day for muslims of Kaunas. For the first time after more than 6 years they gathered in the mosque to commence the first lessons of Quran reading and Arabic learning. It was a day of great benefit to all, as they were being taught the ground basics of Quran reciting, how to identify the letters of the Arabic alphabet and put it all together.
Many different nationalities participated including from Ireland, Sweden, Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Nigeria, Tajikistan and Lithuania. It‘s of great importance for muslims to be able to read the Qur‘an as it is the Book of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta‘aalaa). Every word in the Qur’an has come from Allah (subhaanahu wa ta‘aalaa). It is in the original language: Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was an Arab and the majority of people in Mecca and Medina spoke Arabic. Therefore that’s why sisters aim to gather every Sunday and brothers every Thursday in the mosque to put all efforts to learn reading Quran written in Arabic instead of simply reading its translation. The Quran reading lessons are given by imam of the mosque of Kaunas, hafiz Abdullah Belge.
On Sundays some of muslims also try to learn and others try to improve and get more skills in Literatural Arabic language with nice teachers: Maysoon and Fatimah for sisters and Shams al Deen for brothers. At the begining of this school year they teach them to pronounce properly every Arabic word and help to build their vocabularies by learning some Arabic words by heart. The lessons are very interactive and students get real experience in Arabic language, in shaa Allah.
Oh Allah! Bless us and our families, make useful for us what you have taught and teach us knowledge that will be useful. And accept all our good deeds, ameen
